This is the only stone remaining in the original Chadron Catholic Cemetery, three-quarters of a mile north of the City of Chadron.
Some twenty-two other graves were moved to the Calvary Cemetery in Chadron around 1900. Reportedly, the reason that this grave was not moved is that Mr. Paul committed suicide following an incident in which he accidentally shot himself with a gun..
