This small cemetery of approximately 14 graves is located about 6 miles southwest of Chadron, Dawes Co., Nebraska on Deadhorse Road. It is in Section 33, Township 32N, Range 48W. There is only one tombstone, but other graves are noted by markers, depressions in the ground and mounds.
14 marked burials were found and two other sites of burials. One site is a fenced area on southern side marked foot and head of space for one burial. The other is west, beside it, under trees with irises on what could be 4 burials. This could be site of burial of a family of 5 who died of the flu in 1914, not verified by a newspaper item at this date, July 1, 2006.

age
25 year(s)This is the only stone remaining in the original Chadron Catholic Cemetery, three-quarters of a mile north of the City of Chadron.
Some twenty-two other graves were moved to the Calvary Cemetery in Chadron around 1900. Reportedly, the reason that this grave was not moved is that Mr. Paul committed suicide following an incident in which he accidentally shot himself with a gun..
